It's a simple idea - IT support, but without the jargon. At isthatIT, we feel that the client should be able to follow what's going on without reaching for a dictionary every time we open our mouths. To that end, we came up with the idea of providing easy IT support solutions for any situation.
The concept came from the summer job of isthatIT's founder, Alex. Having spent many years working at Marlborough College Summer School (MCSS) helping with the beginners IT courses, he decided that there was a gap in the market. Most IT support services would fix any problem you had, but you might not have a clue how they did it. The aim behind isthatIT is to provide you with the knowledge to be able to fix the problem yourself if it happens more than once, and to help you understand what went wrong and how to avoid it.
IT support should be simple. We want it to be simple enough that you only have to call us once.
Above all, we want you to be comfortable using your computer, and to take away the "fear factor" that a lot of people have. We've heard all sorts of stories over the years of people that are too afraid to turn the machine on in case it destroys the family finances, or who don't want to touch it in case "something" goes wrong. The reason small children pick things up so fast is that they're not afraid to just play; click on things and see what happens. We think everyone should feel that way.
We're still a small company: so far we've helped The Original Hat Box Cake Company with the transition to a new website. We've also designed and built a site for Philip Dukes, one of Great Britain's most outstanding solo viola players. As well as this, the valuable support that we've provided (and continue to provide) at MCSS forms a large part of our work.
